hide the groups in which I am

Hi! I give an idea if it would be possible to hide your steam groups from your profile, by checking a box in the settings exactly like friends. So that you can put a steam group in the artworks but they won't be displayed above the friends list, I think you get the idea :)

There is nothing wrong with hiding what groups you are in. I'm fine with it.

I just don't like to have it on my profile but I like to have the name of the group in play you know :)

I guess it could it be possible to offer a toggle for public and private groups listed on your Steam Profile to others?

I was wondering if this would be helpful for certain people, to stop others from tracking them around a bunch of groups and stalking their activities?

For example: Like if there was a depression help group, people could make that private and not be listed as a group they had joined? If they joined a furry group or whatever else? Play a certain game with a group, that then other gamers join to harass you in after seeing you in it?

So long it can't be used the other way around for malicious activities or scammers, I don't see any harm in providing that option.

The problem I'm seeing here is not that I mind hiding groups, it's that every time steam adds a new checkbox control, the (already over convoluted) settings interface gets a bit more complicated. Valve should keep it simple, and not add more confusion

They can just add a section in "modify your profile" called, profile preferences with all the checkmark option really.
I would like to be able to hide the badges icons or to be able to hide the user awards icons WITHOUT annhilating the awards section from utter existence.
These things really should be there tbh.
