For the Steam Summer Sale 2021 Stories:

So, uh, what was the team smoking that made them think a response involving the character being (presumably) fatally orally raped by a giant spider was an okay thing to include as an outcome to a blind CYOA story with no option to redo? It's not funny, unless you thought Alien was a comedy movie; you know, the movie specifically designed to play upon fears and memories of **** like that and make viewers uncomfortable due to the suggested themes.

And yes, the story piece is sexual even if the writer was oblivious and didn't intend it as such. An ovipositor is a reproductive organ, oviposition is an entire genre of kink, and it's being used non-consensually in an explicit manner for penetration.

****ing hell, Valve. Why did you think that was fine? Any kid could be doing these stories.

Thing is, you really can't take this sort of stance when Valve stock adult games on the store. It's hardly out of kilter is it?

Sure, kids could be reading. But here's the thing. It's only going to be traumatic if the kid already KNOWS about that, and I seriously doubt kids would pick up on a pretty damned niche kink like that, even if you made the leap that did.

that was like the most benign thing ever. If you were triggered by that i dunno how you go through RL. try therapy. i did. it worked wonders. i'm not saying that to be cruel. But if you're triggered by a benign story like the steam-sale thing, you really really need therapy to address your issues. Nobuddy should be getting triggered that easily. That's an awful way to live!!

To be fair here, I think it's a little sad that there are certain people that literally cry "triggered" or complain just because they CAN make something dodgy out of a situation.

Heaven forbid they actually presented some evidence to show intent.

tbh, it was the spiders that bothered me - in mouth, on face - I am not phobic... but ... - it was unexpected and the horror aspect really worked. I made (what I thought was) a lighthearted post about it re: trigger warning warning and was referred here. I didn't consider the assault aspect. I am sorry to hear some people were distressed by it.

Else, OP directly mentioned a kink, which seems to project what community they're a part of onto a harmless tiny little horror story. Little difference from the Aliens facehugger.

If the OP is serious, likely living a really good comfortable life for that to be a complaint, compared to something to actually worry about.
