Option to prevent people sending u friend requests?

So from time to time i get a friend request (i think from online games)(was happening more often when my profile was public) and its kinda annoying me, since i am not interested in adding random people to my friends list, nor making "friends" online. I just wan't to play games on my account. Please consider adding an option so people can't send u a friend request or anyhow interact with u on steam.

No type of option has been implemented like this "yet".

It has only been about close to 3 years, and Valve time is about 5-ish years give or take, so still holding out hope we'll get some sort of option one day.

Wow, this thread got resurected quickly. So sad that nobody at valve has this many people trying to friend their account? surely they have loads of requests - so im guessing there is a way in the back-end of filtering them, already implemented, just not exposed on the front-end.

all just guessing here, but if I was a java coder, i would have done that ages ago.
