Anonymous gifting

The title says it all really.

Sometimes, I'd like to gift a game to a friend, and have them not know which friend it was from.
I gift games out of generosity and friendship, not to gain recognition and praise.

I wouldn't accept gifts from a person trying to hide their identity, the same way I don't pickup/accept calls from hidden numbers.

Well if they accept... that is up to them

I honestly will like to do something like this as well, even that I think it can be a problem if someone sends you stuff and then dose a chargeback as you cant know if you should or should not take it, if you can trust the user that send it to you

And you have every right to make that choice, hopefully no one calls you with an emergency like your mother just got hit in a car accident and they're calling from the 7 eleven phone.

I mean the logical normal thing would be the hospital or PD making the call and not some stranger wasting time calling you from the 7/11 instead of 911.

I would imagine this not working due to if Person A wants to block Person B from contacting them in any way, and Person B keeps sending gifts from different accounts to bug Person A, that could be troublesome for the user and valve.

Another fair point, but couldn't people do that anyway, just minus the hidden name? (However, if someone blocked me I doubt I'd want to buy them a game anyway)

That's a great idea, exactly what I need to do now. I want to give an anonymous birthday gift so the person doesn't feel like needing to give anything back on my birthday. Have you found a solution to this?
