Badge for writing reviews.

I noticed that only few players spend some time and write reviews
For example:
Witcher 3 - around 4 000 000 owners, and only 122 000 reviews. I know that many players have this game in libraries, and didn't played yet, or enough to write review, but still... it's very little :(

Other, less know games are in even worse position.


I think that helpful players should be rewarded, and others might get encouraged to help build better Steam. How to do it?

My idea is badge for writing reviews, similar to one for owning games.


Level 1 (100 XP) - write 10 reviews
Level 2 (200 XP) - 25 reviews
Level 3 (300 XP) - 50 reviews
Level 4 (400 XP) - 75 reviews
Level 5 (500 XP) - 100 reviews

Then they'll be even worse than they are now. People will just go:
'review 1'
'review 2'
'review 3'
etc, just to get the badge, and most of them won't even bother to delete the reviews after.

eram is correct, we don't need any more xp for writing reviews, i like doing it but it only feels special once, kind of like buying a car

As eram said, the Community Leader badge is one. The sales event participation badge also has it. That is at least 3 events a year to earn xp for reviewing.

its not an outlandish concept of not expecting to be rewarded for every little things you do.

In the way you present it, nope not gonna happen.

If they were to input review related badge separately from community badge,I'd rather see it being something like "Helpful review count", badge from 10, 100, 250, 500 and 1000 users
tagging your review a helpful. This could purge the reviewscene of obnoxious waste of space
but would probably end up users bandwagoning on already popular reviews.
