An "Always hide in-game status for this game" option for certain titles
With Steam getting adult products on its store, I feel like it'd be worth it to have an option to allow players to always hide their in-game status for specific games even if their privacy settings are set to public.

Hell, the technology is there and is applied on games formerly sold on Steam but have since been delisted. Having this technology be used in some... gag gifts, would be appreciated.

Just don't buy games that you are too embarrassed to have in you library or get a second account for such games.

Won't stop folks from gifting me those games.

I think i can see why the technology to hide one's in-game status on a per-game basis is only used in delisted games: People seem to think that the "I don't care and neither should you" argument is a valid one. :x

Other than use another account, that is the only answer some of these people will give you. I agree with you. If there are games on your account that you would rather people not see then it should be an easy thing to hide. There are many a varied reason for why someone might want this feature and it doesn't hurt those that don't want it.

We have enough hide this hide that, show this show that options, sheesh. If you need more hide crap, then make a private alt and either buy the game on it or use it to play games from your "gifted" porn games.

Next will be a request to hide all games starting with A,D,R or M that also have an odd number in them.

Enough already.

I kind of agree, I personally have some games I some time idle in while testing this, and that, will be nice to be able to hide active game for some games

Is this even possible? Isn't the hide or offline feature an umbrella feature that is all encompassing?

How can it be applied to games on an individual basis?

Same as you can have the "don't sync clound" or "no overlay" on game by game basise
I am pretty sure they got the tools to do it all ready and it may even be possible to find a work around to do it now

It's already implemented for Legend of Korra, Transformers Devastation and that one Activision-published Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. My suggestion involves using that technology used in those games as a user-selectable interaction for specific titles.

The tech is there, and I think having the option to use it for specific titles would be a welcome option for certain games. I fail to see how this will harm people who do not want it.
