"Permanently Remove" is only an advanced hide feature that is completely reversible.
For game items, game devs can offer a way to delete them in their games.
For Steam items, maybe one day we'll get a hide feature for them as well.
Just a simple: Remove ... Yes? No? ... Gone.
Deleting anything is not a good idea on many levels (biggest one is hijackers), if someone gets into your account and wants to steal everything they can do that, if you have only bound items, maybe they'll want to delete them so you can't have them either (already some games allow the deletion of items and should be changed).
Not sure what you mean "Scrap items", you mean deleting or turning them into gems or some other sort of currency? If so that would be bad and would probably tank what ever they would be turned into and destroy prices on items, propably why Valve made items you get from the points shop only bound to account and not trade/marketable.
I've been for only so far an "advanced hide feature" like the games in our library. Much safer and we wouldn't have users complaining later that they want thier items back like they did when you could delete games (before it was changed).
Exactly this. I don't even want gems anymore, just to get rid of them.
