Add external library support?
I'm getting tired of having 6-7 launchers and was wondering if steam could import your library from other launchers.

GOG does this, but i want to be able to use steam's features

I wouldn't mind if they added them as non-steam shortcuts (Meaning no achievements/workshop)

press add a game, and add non-steam game.

You can already add games as non-steam shortcuts. If a game requires a 3rd party launcher, then there isn't anything Valve can do about that.

Even GOG Galaxy 2.0 can't get around that requirement.

I just want to be able to import my library, and have steam handle launching the game. kind of like what you can do with the non-steam game, but faster

I know that exists, but i have a ton of games in the epic launcher and more in Uplay, one with GOG, etc. and it is a hassle to add them all to steam one by one

Doing Add A Game should bring up a list of games/programs it detected. If it doesn't detect them, that is when you have to add them individually.

You just go through the list and click the check next to each one you want added.

Won't happen. Regardless of if you launch it through steam or the magical thing you want, it'll still route through the original launchers in order. IE Steam>Origin>EA game

I know there is no way i'm getting around launcher requrements. i'm just asking for a button that says something like "Would you like to add games form other installed launchers?" you can then log in to the launchers and automatically add installed games into steam as non-steam game. this would allow for easier library management and overall ease of use as some launchers don't add games to the registry, so they don't show up in the list you get from the non-steam game menu.

There's not much stopping any of the other companies from using the API to add games to your account beyond acknowledging they have subpar launchers and rely on Steam, oh and creating the system to automate it.
