Filter Out GRATUITOUS Sexual Content (Porn)
Please add a way to filter out games that have sexual content for the sake of sexual content. I don't want to remove ALL games with Sexual Content, just games where that is the primary theme.

The RPG tags are being overrun by low effort Hentai trash (Since when is a candy crush clone an RPG?), and there is no way to get rid of it without removing some games I don't want hidden. Not all visual novels are porn and not every game with sexual content is porn.

Please add a Pornography tag or something, so we can filter by that.

You haven't read the whole post, right?
Which tags would you recommend to the OP to filter out?

And I agree with OP. We need porn tag for those games which mainly focus on porn.

1. Tags are user generated and porn is not one Valve will approve of.

2. Depends on the specific games the OP is talking about. Need to know that to see the tags they have.

'Anime' or 'nudity' would make a good deal of getting rid of most of that content. However IMO the perfect solution to acheive that with minimal collateral damages would be the ability to set up filters with tag combos. But it's not a feature so far.

And here we get into the thorny issue of where to draw the line.

That would be nice.
I don't want The Witcher 3 hidden because I excluded 'nudity' tag.
Or Dragon Ball FighterZ hidden because I excluded 'anime' tag.
But combining them is an awesome idea.

Tags are user generated, neither Steam nor the dev has any control over it.. if you want to give a game a tag look at its tag, and click the plus button. you can give it or create any tag you feel like

Granted, this is also the biggest issue with the tag system, troll taggers.. people will post "nudity" or "Sexual content" tags on things that are more tame than most Disney shows, just because it has an anime art style or has a female protag (very obvious with certain JRPGs)

That makes no sense. Porn games gets a pass but ooh god forbid a porn tag to recognize those games.
The actual user generated tags system and the maturity content both reached their limit.
It is sad we but we cant trust both users and small indies studios to give honest tags. The system need to be rethinked. Users who are not against tasteful nudity or respectfull sexual content are flooded with hentai or pornographic games.
But once again who or what will decide the limit between a mature game and porn ? Is there a solution between allowing all or forbiding all ?

Unchecking Adult Only Sexual Content should remove "Porn" with out effecting such games.

The problem though, is what some define as "porn." Most posters complaining about it (from my experience so far) isn't really porn, but anime characters in scantly clad clothing, despite no actual nudity or porn involved.

I posted my findings about the different settings and their effects on https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/2798376550600702545/ but yeah, there are still false positive on what you want when excluding Sexual Content. We don't know when users will start adding a "Primary Sexual Content" tag on top of the current "Sexual Content" tag just to exclude the 5% games that are the latter but not the former. I can't imagine it soon enough because the ones you want it the most are the ones who'd rather spend as little time as possible on the store pages of these games. So we're basically relying on either good faith of our antagonists, or a volunteering army of taggers.

And that will only work until someone mistakingly tags a game as "Primary Sexual Content", then the problem will be moved. Well, in this case, we could try to *remove* the bad tag, apparently it's done by clicking on + then reporting bad tags by clicking on a flag icon. But same, we need enough users to do this consistently.

Which comes back to the idea of Steam enforcing precise content tagging by developers, combined with content verification on submission (and as I said on my post linked above, developers would be wise to do this honestly so they can attract the proper audience and avoid having their game removed; and this is true for every type of content: horror, gore, etc.)

I only see law enforcement for the more general age rating and broader content categories for now, and even that is not fulfilled (e.g. PEGI should be mandatory in France even for digital stores). I hope law improves on this side *and* it will get followed. In the meantime, ithe responsibility is on Steam's shoulders (and our hypothetical tagger team's) to do the right thing.

A final category would be for censored games with content patching outside Steam to circumvent content verifications (well, assuming there are actual verifications). It's complicated because it's often done under the table, but I think Steam would still enforce tagging this anyway. Some people may not like the idea of playing a game that looks great, only to realize that it was originally not what they thought. Tags kinda do the job here, but since in this case banner and screenshots seem in discordance with the tags, the user will probably wonder for a moment if the tags are fake or not, need to check reviews and community forum to be sure (so extra effort).
