Allow us to delete in-game items from our inventory.
I deleted the Long Dead, once popular Battle Royale game The Culling from my library yesterday, thinking it would finally get rid of the 91 untradeable, unmarketable items in my inventory, but no such luck. So I sent in a support message to steam, and they refused to help as well, https://i.imgur.com/Tk6JQfD.png

While it's absurd that we can't delete items from our own inventory, it's even more asinine that Steam Support refuses to assist in purging dead items from our inventory.

I'll be keeping this topic open and bumping until the issue is resolved.

Steam support won't do anything because they are not Valve games. You'll need to contact the devs of the games you want the inventory items deleted, they can do this but most stopped because well it was time consuming.

Try asking if they can add the option in-game as other games have that feature.

There are many threads about this you could have posted on, and a overall hide feature on Steam would be beneficial for everyone (you can hide the items/tabs you don't want and later can get them back if you wish.)

The game in question is dead, the studio is no longer in existance, no support will be coming from them now or any time in the future.

Valve has the technical ability to delete items from player inventories if they chose to do so, and they should upon player request.

I didn't see any threads regarding this topic on the first 5 pages of this board, so I decided to create my own.
The Culling is not dead and was resurrected as The Culling Origins and is running and has people playing, you can try asking there for help. Still have the same Item definitions[steamdb.info] so they'll be able to do something with them if they want, doesn't mean they will.

I'm not sure if you're able to see my imgur link, I'm guessing not. I have put a support ticket in with them, waiting to hear back, but I'm doubtful of a response, since we have confirmation that they have moved out of their main offices. Probably running the server out of a basement somewhere at this point.

Anyway, it's irrelevant, peak concurrent player count hasn't gone above 100 since mid-December. It's a matter of time until they shut down the servers for good. Even if they do eventually implement some sort of in-game functionality to delete in-game items, how are we supposed to do that once the client can't connect to the non-existant servers? Why is Valve so adamant about restricting our access to our own item inventory?

I would also like to delete an inventory item from the worst game on Steam (Path of Exile) but it can't be done.

It was the top seller on Steam at some points in it's infancy, and it spawned the Battle Royale genre.

I'm going to give credit where it's due, but at this point, it's dead, and I want all reminders of it erased from my account.

Arma 3 battle royale mod which then evolved into stand-alone PUBG was published in 2015.
H1Z1 battle royale appeared late 2015 early 2016.
The Culling was released in early access on Steam on March 4, 2016 after seeing initial success of battle royales.

The only thing Arma 3 and PUBG have in common is Brenden Greene.

That's all I'm going to say on this topic, because you're derailing this thread.

I wish I could delete some in-game items as well. Got some this sale for games I don't have nor want to have.

Actually, he's responding to you and his first response was to part of the OP.

You're misinforming people from the start. Get your facts straight and then talk about derailing.

Put them on the market for 0.01$. Make some money from it.

You can't put them on for $0.01 and the entire point on a thread like this is the items are not tradable and not marketable...

Thank you for actually reading the thread.

Items that have bottommed out on the marketplace are annoying as well. I've had a PUBG Aviator crate on the market for the minimum price since September, but since there's tens of thousands of others also trying to sell for the minimum price, and hardly any buyers for a locked crate that costs nearly $3 to open, it's not going to sell any time soon. I'd prefer to just delete it.

Ignore the items. They do not affect you, your steam account, or your active games.

wind_candle Jan 3, 2019 @ 12:58pm
Items can't simply be deleted without trace from your inventory for obvious reasons, at most it'll be like deleting game licenses - an advanced hidden feature with a convenient option to recover them.
Such a feature (any feature, really) will have to work for all accounts and all items, and Valve will have to provide support for the forseeable future. Considering the complexity of inventory items, and the fact that very few people will even use this feature, I believe it will be very low priority.
I mean, if it really bothers you so much, open a new account I suppose...
