Add likes/dislikes and comment linking
The first part is self-explanatory. It's pretty common these days in comment postings. Why doesn't steam have this?

Not only does it work for comments but it would allow for sorting and filtering of popular or even unpopular threads.

Why does Steam bother to recopy quoted comments when you can just link back to the comment and follow a conversation within a thread?

Likes and dislikes add nothing. Only memes and pretentious moralists get upvoted.

That happens a lot however I would definitely also still like to see comments linking to follow the conversations within a thread.

Thank you I had done a couple of searches but I suppose for not really knowing what kinds of terms would bring up this kind of thing I did not find anything. I still hope someone takes a look at the comments linking and considers implementing it

I'll save you a lot of time wondering... just like was said in every single other thread about this topic, IT'S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN.

They had this in the original forums, it caused nothing but problems, they left it out on purpose because of the problems it caused.

Seriously this is brought up A LOT. Its never EVER coming back.

You are saying that apart from the comment thread voting which I understand is not coming back, that linking back to a comment that someone is replying to instead of copying the original comment is not going to happen?

Its already linked to, click the underlined name in the quote....

There is also the number on the bottom right hand side of every post, copy and paste that link if you want, that will take you right to that post but hitting the quote button works too.

This is not facebook or whatever. This NEVER should be added ever. Only fuel for trolls.

Dislikes are very anti feedback and gives people power to censor good feedback, because people will simply downvote instead of respond of why they dislike something, this is why they actually got rid of it on the Blizzard forums, honestly think other forums should follow, i do think steam forums are very outdated and need an update, i know you may not like that idea but if you had a dislike button you would use that to censor me instead of properly responding, and even if you the rare case that still responds, not everyone does this, feedback is simply neccesary to improve a platform / a game / forum.

Like/dislikes will just be heavily abused by people that are salty for no reason and those that have many alts and so on. There is no real reason to have them on forums anymore.

Threads don't need to be filtered, they already do that by activity. People will stop posting on stuff and will be moved down the list.

Some of your locked topic seems to be spilling over into here......

This is bizarrely hilarious from someone who literally advocated to censor people on the discussion forum

What do you all think of linking back to a replied comment instead of re-copying the whole thing?

It's a waste of screen space when long posts are recopied or you start to see a whole thread recopied within a reply

You mean like this....

As I have already said... YOU CAN ALREADY DO IT.

And people quote the messages so that they don't have to flick back and forth while responding to long messages. So that they can break them up and reply to each section of the message to make it more readable. So that people know that the person is responding to a message and don't have to go back up and actually go and try to read the quoted message 3 or 30 pages back.
