It's more just a waste of development time and resources than anything, nobody spends a significant amount of time visiting your profile/caring about your background unless you're some celebrity gamer, and even most of them would probably prefer to just stick with the background that most suits their image.

i doubt it's that hard , and it would make the extra backgrounds in your inventory useful

I agree - I can't speak for anyone else, but from my perspecitive, it would be more for me than anyone visiting my profile.

It's the same reason I have a wallpaper cycler for my desktop rather than having to manually change and choose from the thousands of images i've collected over the years... I just like seeing something different every now and again, and if it can be done automatically then I'm all for it!

As much as it sounds kinda k00l and I kinda wanted it before, I'm still 50/50 on leaning towards no. It would waste time fixing other problems on Steam and adding new features that are needed just to be able to change a persons profile around for no reason.

That being said there is a user on Steam that is using some kind of program to do this already (forgot who, could try and find again) that every 3 mins or so all the information, showcases, background changes to a different look.

I would love this option. I have so many different still and animated backgrounds, I would appreciate the ability to create a "slide show" of selected backgrounds that would rotate on a timer. People could still choose to have only one background if they wanted.

I would also like a slideshow option that rotates out the background image by a set timer between 30 seconds and never. A setting to make it so every time a user visits a different one of your profile backgrounds is shown to them, is an excellent way to make collecting backgrounds more interesting. This would add more customization options while incentivizing people to spend more money to gain more points to spend on backgrounds.
