Steam Link VR app for Daydream/Gear VR
I would like if they make an app for Google Daydream and Samsung Gear VR. I would buy so many VR games from Steam if I could play them with my current Gear VR with my keyboard and mouse or my controller. I wouldn't mind a few miliseconds imput lag, as long as the app clearly states it's not the same as Rift or Vive, and you need a 5ghz router.
It would be very good not only for people with those VR headsets, but also for developers to have a higher chance of monetizing their content. That will allow for a higher variety of VR games on Steam that will benefit the VR market in general, because more VR games means more people will buy Rift and Vive, and Steam will sell more games. We really need an app like this!

O yes.. yes you do :D:

A few moments of delay is the difference between enjoying the experience and opening a puke bag
And I am talking from experience :D: (When had delays or game got stuck in the early days of my Vive use)

You can already use a few apps that allow you to stream the game to the mobile, but I do say be warned
Alos many games are made with controllers in mind, and in my opinion no controllers give a very low level feeling of VR (even more without full tracking that also is missing and may make some games not compatible)

Same thing they said about Steam Link "delay will make it unplayable" but for everyone using it with the right hardware it's not true. I've used a few apps and mods that allow me to play PC games with my Gear VR and even if they introduce additional lag it was never a problem for me. I wanna be able to enjoy a "cheap" experience because I love VR but I don't have the money for a high-end headset. Other solutions are not so great and reliable as Steam Link for gaming, so I really want a VR app for games that allow me to use mouse and keyboard. Further compatibility for present and future games can be added by developers themselves, so many more people can enjoy their games.

Lag in Steam link compere to lag in headset is completely deffrent subjects

In Steam Link worst you lose in the game becouse of it or get pissed off and break the screen in extreme cases

In VR you will get a feeling of sickness most of the time and puke up what you eat last
Its not a good experience at all
If you done it all ready you may be one of the rare few that are ok with that, but for the most that is something they will be unable to take, and I don't think Valve will work on a system for few users that most of the public will be unable to play

Beside that, VR prices will go down soon enough its just a matter of time

I guess I have strong VR legs, only one game makes me actually sick after like one hour.
Might be a long time for VR prices to come down, so having more choice is always good and I can't rely on 3rd party software which doesn't even work correctly like Steam Link does. Developers and Steam need to work to enable different options to allow this to work for different kinds of people, like disabling head tracking and having the option to turn it on for people like me. Not everyone needs to enter a sickness experience, and for those comfortable enough enabling these features is a life changer. More options is what us PC gamers always want.
