You jut have to love Steam's UI philosophy. "Hide important stuff where no one will find it and never tell anyone we added such an option".
It honestly wouldn't surprise me if they added it after my OP, as well.

More than likely, store pages with GIFs strewn about the page. They can lock up the client like nothing else.
Happened just now trying to watch the Sudden Strike live twitch stream -> frozen, with a pretty "new cursor" looking like this: https://i.imgur.com/XoNztnV.jpg .
After a client restart, the problem came back - notice what the link is pointing at (main store page) and what the content is (frozen at Sudden Strike 4)
