Do not auto add free to play games to accounts.
if your steam is logged in and someone loads a free to play game that is steam enabled. it adds it to your account as 'complimentary'. I find it somewhat annoying that it shows up in my history with no easy way to delete it.

I may be a bit of a control freak but anything auto adding to my account is a HUGE negative and I will preferentially get my games elsewhere. Where as before I always tried steam first.

1. Don't leave your Steam on for "someone" to add it to the account.
2. Don't play F2P games.
3. Delete them from your https://store.steampowered.com/account/licenses/

That doesn't sound like "auto" adding free games to me. By choosing to install a free game, you are also choosing to add the game to your account.

It's easy enough to keep other people out of your account in the first place, so you can just eliminate the problem that way instead of expecting Valve to somehow fix this for you.

they had the game on there account, the started it when I was logged in. it added it to my account upon the start of the game.

to be more clear. if you play clicker heroes(a free game) on your steam account. then on the same computer I log in and play one of my games and forget 2 log out, next time you start clicker heroes from desktop. it will then be added to my account.

Then don't forget to log out from your account.

Regardless of the person using the account if your account plays a F2P game it's going to be added to your account stats and recently played list.
The use of your account is your responsibility.

it wasnt added on my account. they added it on there account. steam auto added it from a desktop icon start up with 0 confirmation. exactly how hard would it be to block a new game from being added to an account without notification? if it was a paid game of theres I am sure it would not start without them logging in. why should it be different for free ones?

If you launch the game from your account it'll be added to your account.

it does not add paid games you get https://i.imgur.com/Ab1ZP55.png message if you click a paid game. the suggestion is simply do the same for free to play. when you share a computer its very easy to forget to change accounts occasionally that way it wont screw with the other persons stuff.
