Well steam isn't a game and doesn't have much in terms of news other then game releases which are released on steam and facebook, neither of which require an account to look at.
It's free and anyone can make an account.
You did suggest that he should make one FOR steam.
What exactly are you asking for?
If you want to see news about steam there are it's social media pages.
In terms of steams own social plateform you have profile pages, friends and activity feeds.
Any more then that is just bulkware that very few people want and no one really needs.
Why? So people could bug him directly? What would adding his private facebook and twitter account add to steam? Nothing.
Ever consider he has accounts but doesn't use them just to lock them up from someone else taking them and doesn't want them public?
Just because hes the main person at Valve doesn't mean hes the one that uses social media at all. For all we know he hate all social media and doesn't use any at all, or he uses it a lot just in private with family and friends.
Valve/Steam has social media accounts and they use them. We don't need any other social media accounts on Steam other then Steam's and even then we still don't need those ones.
Steam has its own social media features... friends and activity list (that only your friends can see).
What else do you need?
You know how hashtags became a thing? By people just using them. Twitter only then made them an offical feauture with some backup.
And given the state of the Steam community, the very last thing it needs is more stuff for scammers, low-effort devs, general ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to advertise their ♥♥♥♥. Same for keyboard warriors to mindlessly push the bandwagon of the latest outrage

*insert short clip to advertise my latest scam site*
*insert pointless meme*
Steam is a gaming platform with social features. If you want a full fledged social network, use one of them.
But all of these features are on Facebook/Twitter which you can link together, all you want is ANOTHER plateform which people would have to go search.
\/\/\/ which goes against what you wanted.
