can anyone confirm if these files are clean and safe and match the ones provided in the previous version of Seam?

Can't believe Steam didn't give us this option and now Im considering random files from random blokes off the internet. Good work Valve. Good work.

or just use the link steam://open/minigameslist since they just removed the button sofar, the small mode still exists

Even if they are safe Valve will eventually update servers in a way it wo t work. Even if the client won't update Valve only needs to change server side stuff to prevent access and use when the client isnt upto date,

As much as I dislike the new NOT better ui changes you may as well put up with it. Hopefully Valve improves it. At least a little but.

Follow the new method linked in the description of that file. The new method lets you download the old client files directly from Steam.

I also think that the workaround is a waste of time, soon it won´t work anymore and/or will create all sort of problems.
the only real solution is steam offering an official way back or alternative to the new UI.
or allowing full customization of the current one like being able to completely remove some elements and rearrange everything.
what a mess.

I wouldn't say it's a waste of time as it'll at least show Steam how many people are still using the old client version via the workaround and hopefully push that people want the option.

I wouldn't say it's a waste of time as it'll at least show Steam how many people are still using the old client version via the workaround and hopefully push that people want the option.

yeah it´s okay sure, what I meant is that it can´t be a permanent solution.
I worded it wrong maybe, this workaround may buy you some time but won´t last forever.
but okay, let´s hope they notice that many many people want the old design back.

Well clearly you forgot that there was no option to revert last time the ui was changed. Then again that seems to be the common theme among the ones complaining, they either don't recall the change somehow or they are too young to know about the changes.

The revert worked fine. The files were right off valve's servers. Permanency isn't an issue, as I'll enjoy it anyway. People are already figuring out ways to remove the eyebleed and make it function like the previous version.
