XP for perfecting games
perfecting a game (getting every achievement) takes a lot of time and effort and i think gamers should be able to get some xp for this effort. i imagine with all the trash games on steam this could be exploited but i believe that you only have trading cards for non-trash games so you could just allow this 'perfect xp' for these games. or you could just allow developers to request 'perfect xp' for new games going forward. anywhere between 50xp - 200xp would make me and many gamers feel valued for making the most of your games. though, if its easier to just unlock extra booster packs this would be great too; for example, perfecting a game gives you an extra booster or the ability to get another booster in that game. anyway, thanks i hope you think this is as good an idea as i do. Peace

Achievements can be unlocked with a click in SAM. There won't be rewards for that.

achievement unlockers make this idea pointless

Getting every achivement takes 5 seconds with third party applications.

For this reason they have not applied any rewards to getting the achievements.

I found today’s thread.

Third party apps do it for free in no time. SAM being the obvious one.

You also have plenty of trash games that are pretty much for achievement farming. 0 difficult to achieve.

You do realize that the achievements themselves are the reward for your effort, right? From what you're asking, you want to receive a reward for receiving a reward. You have earned enough xp to get past level 10, thus having an achievement showcase, which is your reward for a reward. You can now display those achievements that you put effort into to earn.

with thing slike SAM giving XP for achievements would be a very bad idea

It also creates an issue wiht various steam sale events that have a minimum level requirement to join. It would then be easy for people to spam new accounts get the XP they needed via SAM and then spam the event.

Note there are tons of F2P games with achivements that you wouldnt even have to spend monty to do this

i see, didn't know of the achievement unlockers. still, getting the opportunity for 1 extra card drop in select games wouldn't be too broken.

don't know if you're having a bad day or something but your tone in your comment comes of a bit condescending/patronising..; just a heads up. you get a reward for letting the game sit at the main menu... why not get a reward for unlocking every achievement in a non-trash game? doesn't need to be a big one. though this whole conversation is a bit moot seeing as achievement unlockers aparently exist. thats just sad.

“Why not get a reward for getting all those rewards” is an attempt to shift the burden-of-proof. The question is why should one be so rewarded?

You quoted tLT, whose thesis was “achievements are already rewards” saying (verbatim) “.... why not get a reward for unlocking every achievement in a non-trash game?”

Do you understand the concept “burden of proof?”

well im not super hot on law but i thought you may have been saying something more. my point was that for the majority of mainstream non-trash games its difficult and time consuming to 100% a game. which i thought i made clear previously. yes, if youve reached lvl 10 you have the option to show of your fav achievements but i dont see this as much of a reward because its optional, vein and not exactly related to 100%'ing the game. where as bolstering your your level or giving you extra cards allows you too get access to badges or lvl related perks. maybe i should have been clearer in my initial paragraph; i think extra cards is the best option. playstation acknowledges that 100%'ing a game is an achievement in its self, they offer platinum trophy's (akin to badges). though once again this entire discussion is somewhat moot with the current system; as other players rightly pointed out, aparently steam achievements are easliy hackable with programs like 'SAM'?

Perhaps read it in a different tone. My point was that achievements are rewards for doing particular tasks. You are wanting a reward for earning a reward (xp for earning achievements). This is on top of the fact, as stated prior, that achievements can be cheated.
