Stop Adding Free to Play games into my Library.
Ok Enough is Enough will STEAM please stop adding free to play games into my Library, i spent ages of my time hiding all the free to play games, that steam decided to add to my Library. I'm thinking epic might be a good choice. I want my Library Clean, not full of free to play games, Steam has made my Library look trashy, thx steam i really appreciate it, NOT!! was sarcasm btw ><

We've had countless threads from people who were moaning that they WANTED to have FTP games added to their library.

Valve would have done better to add an option for that. As it currently is, either hide them or remove the license. I always do the latter with FTP games/demos I'm not interested in, so I wasn't surprised with a large amount of added games.

Post it as feedback in the correct subforum: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamClientBeta/discussions/

The point being, is that they are Adding trash to my library, without my permission, if i wanted free to play games on my steam, i would had added them myself. I do not want to see trash in my steam library. its my account, my games i choose what goes into my Library. Like dota carnt remove from library only can hide not deleted from my account. Look stop adding free to play game to my account and i won't moan, ahh w/e Crazy tiger you only have under 200 games, if free to play games get muddled between all your paid games, you gonna get confused of what games you paid for, you know real games money games not pay to win or moneyshop ect. over 300 real games getting mixed between free to play games. well im annoyed and angry. end of the day i did not ask for free to play games to be added to my library, if i wanted free to play games i would have added them myself. Its my account i can moan if i want to. i think ive repeted myself a few times, first time never enough for us moaners.

Someone needs to read the SSA again that they agreed to.

Amount of games is irrelevant. FTP games are real games, they merely have a different sales perspective.

You also forget about people who do like to have those games added to their account, nobody asked them whether they were ok with it when Valve changed it a while ago. Hence why I said that Valve should provide an option for it, a simple toggle. Add FTP games and demos to library: yes/no.

At the end of the day you need to provide feedback in the correct spot, so you can be heard. I have posted the same thing in that subforum, as have others. Adding to those threads, which are being centralized by consumers like you or me, will do more for creating awareness than creating a lot of seperate threads which will get lost in the major sea of discussion threads.

Angry rants never worked for anyone. Providing feedback in the correct spot did.

F2P games are only added if you play them

If you don’t like F2P games bring “added“

Stop playing them

Otherwise you can hide F2P games just like any other game in your library

But again the core “problem” is you like playing F2P games. So like stop doing that and the “problem” goes awat

Actually they have started adding F2P games to peoples library's again even ones that people have not played, even ones people have ignored.

I just looked at my library and it added a bunch of F2P games that I have not played ever. I have not loaded them up even to check them out. Its put games that I have ignored because that are free to play into my library.

Just search by advance options and select tags Free to Play and you will see a bunch of them that you more then likely have never played before in there.

Free to play games should only be added to your library if you play them and even then if you check off a box to keep them there if you uninstall it.

They should not be popping up in my library just because I have played other free to play games.

i get that ocd sense i get it with some things, but for me it really is no problem because i have 600 games in my library, so the free to play are not visible to me usually.

Legitimate complaint, despite the hand-waving from the peanut gallery. A breach of trust Valve has apparently decided is more acceptable to them than not achieving their marketing goals. Their appearance in my library is an irritant.

They're not adding games for marketing purposes. It's just showing stuff that you've acquired a free-on-demand licence for, at some point in the past. You can see exactly when that happened for each game (and remove any licences you don't want) here: https://store.steampowered.com/account/licenses/

The only hypothesis I have for how you could have games you've never installed or played there is if you logged into Steam on a computer which did have those games installed, it's possible the client might automatically grab a licence for those games so that they're playable. But I have no idea if that is actually the case.

I'm in the same boat though, I know I don't purposely seek out F2P games, and yet just over the course of the last year I've had over 30 games added to my library without my consent or knowledge. I'm getting a little annoyed myself, but luckily that link you shared made it pretty easy to remove them. I just wish there was a way to stop them from ever appearing in the first place.
I support this.

i have a deep hatred for games that think its acceptable to just show up in my steam library - there is a shoppage for a reason - its adding labour for me to remove that junk or having to ignore it when browsing my library.
Its like apple music with that dreadful U2 album back in the day - giving people free stuff is cool . but ask them beforehand!

I haven't seen anything like this with my library - only games I have bought, or clicked the install or play button on (some free games I didn't install, but clicked the install button just to add to my account). I am on the beta release.

What games were added to your account ?
