I cant see them giving it up, that is kind of a pain i mean i share with a few in my family that have there own taste in games, and they love to review a few games but cant as i own all of them
But it's not like there's a shortage of reviews. And they can always post over at the discussions.
Frankly, someone who doesn't even own the game has no business helping others decide.
Frankly that's a pretty bad point since borrowing the game and having any amount of hours in it doesn't make your review invalid. After all, you did play the game, and that's what matters most.
There could always be some restrictions like account level or amount of products in account to avoid abuse.
Also, whether there's a shortage of reviews or not, it heavily depends on the game, and well-written reviews aren't exactly in abundance in a lot of games.
No, it's a perfectly good point, why should users who did not buy a game, be able to write reviews, if a game is so good that they need to tell about it, they should buy the game and support the developers.
Level, amount of products will not hinder abuse, the way it is now, there is no way to abuse it.
It was a thing, it got abused, Valve removed it, do not hold your breath while waiting for it to return.
It's also worth noting that that's how gaming journalism works, in fact most "professional" reviewers and youtubers don't even buy the games they review, they get them for free, it honestly has no effect on the review at all.
