Take all games that used the RPG Maker engine off of Steam.
It's completely ridiculous, it's like you see a game with good thumbnail art and you click on it and you're like "Crap, it's another ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RPG Maker game." For me, it's like every other Steam game that I see uses the RPG Maker engine.

That, and the "developers" of these games (where you only need 2 hours of your time and 1/138th of a brain to make), are extremely pompous 14 year olds and they act like they have some higher intellect, just because they skipped their major project after school to drag and drop sprites onto a 2D map.

Seriously, just take them all off, there's thousands of them and they all have the same mechanics. It's extremely bothering (especially if you're like me and are constantly looking for older games to play, and almost all of them are under the "Classic" tag).

Law of Supply and Demand........ if there is demand, there will be supply. As long as these games have not broken Steam's terms of service, the devs did not fall out with Valve, and there are players who buy and play them, they are not getting removed.
Not gonna happen. I don't like the games, but guess what? I ignore them. People are going to buy and play them. Get used to it

You don't have a choice.

See? The tool doesn't make the artist.

You're not going to earn people to your cause with that attitude. Maybe you should try to step down of that high horse because you're basically sounding like a extremely pompous 14 year old acting like you have some higher intellect.

BTW, have you actually tried to do an 'RPG Maker' game yourself? It really doesn't take two hours and 1/138th of a brain to do one.

All of these complains always remind me of the people complaining how taking a picture with a DSLR takes no effort, but then can't make a good photo with a DSLR themselves.

Have you looked at how many 'crafting survival' games are out there with the same mechanics? You're going to find a lot os the same whatever you look for. Try narrowing your search with more tags other than 'classic' (which is a very broad one)

This is Gabes backyard and he decides what he want to grow in it.

If you see flowers you don't like, don't pick/look at them, thats how I do it.

Show me a store that will remove stuff you do not approve, they will just shake their heads at you.

That's basically /thread.
It doesn't matter whether the game was made using RPG Maker, Adventure Maker, Game Maker, Unity or a homebrew engine. In the end what counts is the game itself. Either it's good or it's bad.

I made several games on some strange free version of RPG Maker XP when I was 8 or 9 years old. Each was about an hour or two long, and the dialogue was vaguely similar to that of Link to the Past. If a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 9 YEAR OLD can make a functioning RPG Maker game, then what these people are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out isn't "art." That's the same as me painting a dot on a piece of paper, and trying to sell it for $50,000.
I disagree with your suggestion because there are several RPG Maker games I enjoyed, and their removal would make me sad. :Furrowed:

I imagine you only used the preloaded scripts and mechanics, rather than trying to program new ones into your game

If memory serves, rpg maker xp used RGSS for its scripting, which was rather resilient in what custom mechanics you could program into it (I remember one guy who used it to make a first person dungeon crawl as an example )

That's the thing about art. It's worth varies as it lies in the eye of the beholder. http://cavemancircus.com/2015/07/30/15-ridiculous-pieces-of-art-that-sold-for-millions-of-dollars/

That's the most stupid crap I've seen in a while. Might as well sculpt a 4 foot dildo and sell it for $90mil.
Since most RPG Maker titles are tagged with the relevant "RPG Maker" tag, you can atleast add that tag to the excluded tags under your store content preferences (account details -> preferences) and reduce the amount of noise you get served as suggestions.
