Filter games by "Minimum Requirements" specifications
Just as it suggests. Put something like "less than 4 GB RAM" in the search bar and get your results trimmed down accordingly, with games being automatically tagged based on their minimum system requirements. For users with low-end computers or who want to play their games with other applications running like streaming services or Web browser windows.

It may even be done automatically through the Steam client or by the user manually selecting the amount of power they'd like to allocate to their games.

Another filter may also be used for a user's own library so they can choose lower-end games for things like maintaining room for Skype calls or playing from a different computer with lower-end specs.

While there are curators that can help with this sort of thing, they seem to have gone. Having it done by the site would eliminate the need, and I understand that shadow-tagging a game's system requirements would be fairly simple from a Web development perspective, considering that the tags system and standardized system requirements are already in place. If nothing else, that by itself seems like a very doable quality-of-life project.

Questions? Suggestions?

Since requirements are entirely input based, how do you deal with "RAM: needed." Or "Graphics: something from the last five years". Or the so beloved "or AMD equivalent".

How to use a normal filter for games based on specification criteria..??
And why is that so avoided in most websites and apps like steam.??
you might have the wrong idea of what people need.
People would love that feature. And that can increase your sales.
If you have the brain any bigger than a mouse, you will do it.

Learn your PC hardware and what it can handle.

A system to check games would hold Valve liable for any and all errors it makes.

There are already system requirements listed by the developers on a game's store page. I'm just requesting that these requirements be added to the search function and client filters, not necessarily that Steam curate what the developers list for each game.

So no, Valve need not hold liability because Valve is only hosting the specs, not creating them.

But they could still be held liable for recommending something that doesn't run on your PC.
That is a can of worms Valve does not want to touch with a five feet pole.

Did you never wonder why no one else offers such a feature? Think about it.

Why no store front or retailer does this. I mean MS tried this and look how that turned out.

Spec check is having them look at what you have. Search functionality is ask for you to say what you want, whether you have it or not.

I personally see nothing wrong with filtering ram by amount, but if they allow that, they would at least have to acknowledge future suggestions such as "Let's sort by ram frequency" "sort by gfx card/gfx card ram/model/brand" , essentially being a canyourunit clone.
