Suggestion: Steamshop: Release-year filter

So I started this thread since I couldn't find an existing discussion here or am aware of any filter-function in the shop about this.

The idea is to filter the suggested games in the shop based on their release-year.

It kinda annoys me, whenever I visit the shop I only get games suggested which are old as f***. I don't want to see those, I like the beautiful new games the future is offering me. I'm not a fan of classic old games which I played when I was a kid and now spend 20 $ on them, when I have the good old boxed edition on my shelf.

So it would be very nice to have some kind of filter which switch of games older than a specified year (e.g. >2015, >2014...). Maybe with the option to only show games which were released in a specified timerange (e.g. 20xx-20xx).

If there's already a discussion or maybe such a function I didn't found because I'm lazy, feel free to tell me. Thanks in advance ^^

That wouldn't be 100% accurate though, seeing that some devs put the date the game was released on Steam instead of when the game was originally released. So a game from 2001 could have a release date of 2015 as that is when the game was added to Steam.

Yeah, shame on the devs then ;D so I think it's more or less a trust-thing. E.g. Half-Life 1 has a release-date of 1998 here on steam, sounds good to me when I want to filter that, but you're right. Maybe we need an "old-graphic-filter"...

I think that happens mostly when the Dev just did not set a date, so it defaults to when it was released on Steam
