Stop asking me to confirm my e-mail.
Every ♥♥♥♥ing 2 months.
I haven't changed my e-mail, since.. well, ever.
Every ♥♥♥♥ing time the green bar blocks the interface, asking me to do some unnecessary clicking. If I click "yes", no, that's not enough! You get an e-mail with an confirmation code.

You don't need to verify if my e-mail is correct. If I ever do change it, I'm smart enough to change it in the settings menu. Right now the e-mail verification is a ♥♥♥♥ing annoyance.

Valve will continue to ask for confirmation as long as people forget to change.

Which will be forever. So get used to it.

If Valve asks you to confirm a e-mail adress that does not belong to you? I mean if you registered your steam account with "123[at]email.com" and you will get a notice to confirm "124[at]fakemail.com"..

The e-mail verification is only to your account security.. (Steam Guard, and so on)

They're not asking me to confirm an e-mail address that doesn't belong to me. They're asking me to verify an address that I've been using, well I'm not sure, but I suspect for over 15 years.

It asks more like every 6-12 months. It doesn't ask every other month.

Is it really that big of a deal, even if it is happening every 2 months ?

I have to say I have never seen it happen this often, as the good Matt said, it is much less often for me personally.

It helps to protect your account. So just verify it and take it as a good thing.

As already written, it's about once or twice a year, it takes max. 3sec. I click the verify in the client, then I receive an email with a link (not a code) I need to click, and then it's done.

Is that really so hard it warrants for a "rant" on the forum?

The day where you have lost access to your email, and Valve did not ask you this verification, you will blame Valve for not having access to your account.
No matter what Valve does, someone will always be yelling at them.

I don't remember ever having to confirm my e-mail, aside from trade confirmations (before the mobile auth system) and maybe some password recovery stuff and such.

It does it every now and then. Mostly because there are always people who forget to update the email they use if it ever changes. Not everyone uses a GMail/Hotmail/YahooMail account. Someone might use their school/work/ISP provided email instead, and if they no longer have that account, they need to update it (which sadly people will forget to do).

It's why I'm glad I've got that an old email account that I've never had to change. I've had it so long, next year it will be old enough to buy alcohol in the US.

It is. It's way too much effort for something that is completely redundant. I have verified this e-mail several times now (maybe not every month, but it surely feels like it, and definitely more than 2 a year), and just to mention it again: it has never changed.

Obviously, I'm fine with verifying new e-mail addresses, if and when that day comes. I'm not one of those idiots who forgets to update account details.

Good for you, but lots of people actually do forget about something like this, and Steam is not revolving around you alone.

That said, it's less than 3sec twice a year, I'm sure you will survive it.

That's not true.

At all.

I have personally been bugged by that several times within a year, more often when not using the mobile authenticated.

It's not twice a year.
It's more than 3 seconds.
It's completely unnecessary.
No, it doesn't revolve around me, but I'm guessing I'm not the only one "with a superior intellect" (notice sarcasm people), able to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ update his e-mail address on time. It's not rocket science. They didn't use to bother me with this, they shouldn't now. At least give me an opt-out, don't unnecessarily piss me off because other people neglect to update their details.

There is a good reason to why you can't opt-out, those who need this reminder, would opt-out too, at some point when they lose access to their account, they would blame Valve.
Thats why it's not something you can optout.

1: I see it once or twice a year.
2: I click the link in the client, then open my post and click another link, that's it, and it takes literally no more than 3 to 5sec.
3:Tell that to those who forget to change their email.

You are making a mountain out of a molehill.

But I'm part of it too and not only those forgetful people. I even claim that they are a minority and not the majority.

Steam is not my bank account.
A reminder should be enough for forgetful people. Wanting you to confirm isn't even necessary. It's annoying me.
