This goes the other way to, I also advocate for having a kids section that filters out almost every game that isn't aimed/suited for children. Tags aren't ideal for this as many games that are perfectly playable/enjoyable by children aren't kids games. A kids/children tag is literally going to get you toddler games only. Steam already has "family view", which hopefully means they understand the problem exists.
Who knows what kind of flood gate that would open though. Its like the witcher has explicit sex scenes in it, but its allowed because its a AAA game? I can understand not wanting porn games, but as long as the that community stayed in the adult section it would probably be fine.
Who knows, I would probably enforce some guideline that the main image and titles can't be pornographic but once they get to the full page its open game. With some parental options to disable access to it entirely (which would be a better situation for those with kids than having the current store page.)

"Tags to exclude"
Add Anime to it.
They do, in a way. They even removed quite a few of the "anime" titles the last couple weeks. 1 removed today that I know of.
Good point.
I somehow managed to gate most of anime (by excluding this tag in three places), but Steam still suggest me it occasionally on events, sales and new releases, when certain titles/publishers/developers are featured.
And yes, some of those games don't have "anime" tag, especially new ones.
But anyway I still see MUCH less of this staff after exclusion.
Although generally I don’t mind a normal (mystery, historical, fantasy) anime , but I had to filter it, because on the Steam there are very few normal anime games and just flood of erotic anime VNs.
As @obstructor suggested adult section could be nice. those who need it will be able to quickly find it, those who don't need it just save their time.
But that is like 3 more click, who got time 4 dat?
I have to say I don't like the way Steam has gone either. I mean just thinkling about the games you mention ... even if you like anime it doesn't mean you are going to like anime games. And just becuase you have a friend A who likes some game or other, it doesn't mean you will. I think Steam need to stop making recommendations. I don't care what my friends play. I'd like to block it all and just have a Steam Store without any recommendations at all! But I've raised this a number of times and the answer is NO, sorry, but you get what Steam THINKS (calculates) you want to see.
So these days what I do is research games away from Steam then just buy them on Steam when I know what I want .... avoiding the Steam Store as much as possible.
yes, friends recommendations are pretty fail and miss when they prefer totally different genres (and this is a very common case), but I like recent change that you recommended products of developer you subscribed to (the is no need to visit their sites often now)
