Pinning comments on profile

There could be a small little slot above the comments on one's profile in which you can pin comments of your choice so that they don't disappear easily.

You can do this if you disable everyone except yourself the ability to comment, I know, but I still want others to be able to interact with me there.

Why wouldn't you just put the information at the top of your profile instead?

It's more logical to pin something said by someone else than it is to just quote it somewhere on your profile and hope you get away with it. This is especially true if you have hundreds or thousands of comments.

...I'm not sure how it's "more logical" since it's basically just a line of text that you can throw into your profile description. And not sure what you'd have to "get away with". But whatever.

You could have a line of text saying a pro player admits that you're much better than him, but that doesn't hold any weight unless he actually said it himself in a comment.

You could pin said comment and let it be known that he/she actually did admit defeat.

See what I mean?

Pro players don't do things like this... They try to limit their interactions on Steam to minimum with people they don't know becuse of fans and such... People would pin up "reps" as Comissar said above or just pin comments made by fake impersonators

It was more of an example. A bad one, sure, but it still got my point across. Perhaps a more realistic scenario would be one of those extremely high-level Steam accounts 'signing' other profiles.

Even if they do just pin reps and so on, it's their choice, really. I'm sure people that take things more seriously would have better use for it.

You know who also takes profile comments seriously (as serious as if it were legit proofs of something)? Scam victims. Hence they believe in +reps.

I thought people haven't trusted reps in years. You see them spammed so often you'd think they'd have no weight/importance.

Great suggestion.

Some comments are better off deleted — whereas others deserve to be pinned.

It's not too much to ask for.
