Stole my account, baught gifts to another account, Steam Support wont help!
No Im really pissed, someone stole my Steam account, baught gifts for 250 Euro giving them to another account. When trying to get the games or the money back Steam support accuses me of doing this my selft, even though the purchases were done in a couple of minutes then the minute efter sent to another account. "iMen". This user should be shut down, and the games or even better the money returned to me.

Deeply dissapointed in Steam, you are lucky hidning behind some server somwhere in the world, chicken ♥♥♥♥!

Do you have a friend, relative, sibling who could have accessed your PC or had knowledge of your account details? Valve can tell where your account was accessed from - this sounds as though it was done by someone you know.

It is your responsibility to keep your account details secure - do you know how that secure information was accessed?

Make sure that you have enabled Steam guard on your account deauthorised all other computers and done a full scan of your system.

No one here can assist you. You will need to continue to work with support on the issue

You should at a bare minimum address your own computer security which appears to be lacking

1) Enable SteamGuard
2) Use Yahoo/Gmail and enable it's SMS authentication
3) Install anti-virus
4) Change your steam and email passwords to be unique and not reused anywhere else on the internet

If the charges were made on a credit/debit card, you can contact the credit/debit card company and file a fraud complaint. They will usualy remove the charges from your account after an investigation period.
Fist off no! No one had access to the computer that day, and noone has access to the account but me.

This was not done by someone i know, I live in Northern Sweden, the person who recieved the games lives in Israel or something, based on the friends and languages they speak.

I dont care how they did this, it was not done by ME! The games baught was "gifts" to another user, I didnt even know you could give other users games. So now, Im telling Steam take my f...ing gifts back, cause I dont want to give them to this user! If the games were baught to my account, this would be another question, but THIS IS STEALING!
I have filed this both to my bank and the police, then every newspaper and every person, blog, forum and other communications i can think of will here of this.

Obviously SOMEONE had access to your account despite your protestations

Again follow my advice above or you'll be hijacked again.

No one can assist you here. Continue to work with support on the issue. Police aren't going to care nor are newspapers and such. You are a single person with an unverifiable story. I should no more believe you than anyone else's story. Note issuing a chargeback is going to get your steam account suspended as well so it is unwise to pursue that option unless you've actually exhausted all others which you have not.

Yeah, but somehow, you think its "ok" if someone had access? So if i have "access" to your car its ok for me to take it? People need to know about this!

Yeah, but Steam has a database, all transactions no mather what will show, the Account is mine, im still in charge of it, so if i would like to recall my gifts they should do it dont you think?
People do know. Every account can be acces by another person if they have access to the correct information. A key logger could record your log-in and password, if you are signed in to steam all the time, and others use the same computer, then anyone can log-in to your account.

Steam didn't give out your account information. They had to get it some other way. A phishing e-mail, virus, ect. It isn't ok for someone to have access, but you need to figure out where the breach accured and plug the hole (so to speak) or this will happen again.

This kind of thing happens all the time. 99% of the time it is because of the user not the company.

Most laws say that a gift is final. When it left your account, it no longer belongs to that account. Because it may have been done by fraud, you may be able to get your money back from your credit card company/bank. Steam can find no evidence of fraud, or they would have donr something.
Its scary how so many of you accuse the user and not the villan, sad...just sad... laws about gifts? I filed the complaint two hours after the purchase was done. So if your car gets stolen, your children beaten, its all beacuse you didnt lock your car in the garage, so now its your fault. And you didnt learn your children how to be MMA fighters so now its their fault they got beaten.
Steam can't do anything about the person who used your account information. They are not a law enforcement company. We are not blaming you, we are suggesting way to prevent it from happening again.

If it was a car taken and children beaten, the police would investigate and track down the person. Would you get mad if we suggested you get a burglar alarm installed in your house?

You contacted the credit card company and the police. It is now in their hands.

No one has said you did it, just that you need to check your security and find how it happened to prevent it from happening again.

OP Have you done ANYTHING I suggested yet? If you haven't then you're going to see a lot more money get sucked out of your account while you're here.
I unplugged the f...ing computer, the creditcard information was "automatically" deleted, dont know who did this, probably STEAM, then I changed password, canceld the creditcard at the bank.
