Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

Dani Oct 6, 2012 @ 2:56pm
Assassin's Creed Brotherhood lags no matter how low I adjust the settings.
I'm running the game on an Alienware M14x, 9 GB of RAM and an Intel Core i7 processor. Graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce GT 650M. Somehow I feel like this should not be happening, and it should be a lot smoother. I've downloaded every driver I can find. Maybe I missed something? Help would be greatly appreciated.

Before I downloaded my drivers it wasn't running at all, so running with lag is a step up. I would just really like to play this game without being disturbed by slowness and twitchiness.
Check to see if you are on power saver mode is on, this will always lag you if it's enabled.

I don't see any way to turn it on/off... There's brightness adjustment but no power/battery save.

Do you have background programs running, AV or something that is slowing it down. You might have success with this program. Game Booster

If it doesn't help much than at least you can pretty much rule out background processes. I am playing AC 2, I can't remember how old Brotherhood is. You might find the 32-bit or 64-bit (as needed) Microsoft Compatibility Program will work...with it I'm able to run oldies like Baulder's Gate much better -- actually good -- even.

Ac2 is very IO sensitive as it reads textures on the fly. Ensure nothing is reading or writing disk to improve performance

Ok, I turned off my antivirus, downloaded a geforce driver I seem to have overlooked and it's working perfectly. Thank you guys for the help.

iam running two 560 Gtx. AC2 ran perfectly. installed Brotherhood, and its so stinking glitchy, even at medium. running SLI i should be able to run max, perfectly smoothly. I did some reading and i think it might have to do with the ubisoft game launcher. but i am at a loss.

If anyone else is having this kind of problem and nothing seems to work, try this. My game was unplayable, but then I stumbled across this solution deep within a forum.
Run the game, while the game is running open up your Task Manager, go to Processes, there should be a process called "ACBSP.exe" (if not, click on Show processes from all users), right click on it, go to Set affinity, uncheck the last two cores (only uncheck one if you have a dual-core processor), click Ok, then go and set the affinity back to all of the cores.
You'll have to do this every time you run the game, so it can be a little bit of a hassle, but it's the only thing that has worked for me, and it's well worth the extra 30 seconds.

Hope this helps guys.

There is an issue with the mouse acceleration. Try a controller if you have one. If you have problems with making the controller working, search for Kemithude Wireless Fix.

I have the same problem.
AC 2 and AC 3 work perfectly on max settings but AC 2: Brotherhood lags. And it doesn't matter, max settings or lowest settings, it lags the same, doesn't change.
I think it might have high IO. My HDD started working slower since I've put an SSD in my laptop but I don't want to move it to the SSD...
