[Problem] Hit "Play" Button. Get black screen ad infinitum

Pretty much what the title says. Be it DotA 2, be it TF 2 or even the demos I have. I hit the play button or start from the shortcut from my desktop, I always get a black screen. In TF 2, before the black screen, it plays that video with the bald dude with a valve on the back of his head. My keyboard is not lockes so I can go to task manager and close the game from there.

Please help, I really don't know what the hell is going on!!

My first guess would be you are using a really weak computer. Since you haven't told us any more info, that's all I can "guess".

Phenom 2 X4 840, XFX Radeon HD 6870 1 Gb 256-bit, 4 Gb RAM, about 100 Gb free space in the HDD, Corsair 550W energy supply.

No. I can't play. I already sent a ticket to support and did what they asked me to do and it didn't work.

I will keep bumping until someone successfully help me or I get banned, but then, I will just create another account and post a new thread here.

I'm in the same with the game as you, can't run it and my system is ok enough to run it. Have everything updated, tried it with the antivirus off and still doesn't work.
