Does Fallout 3 or New Vegas run faster?

I'm getting either Fallout: 3 or Fallout: New Vegas soon, and after doing some research, I really can't decide which one to get, so I'm going to decide based upon which one runs better, because my computer really isn't that great.

For Fallout 3:

Minimum System Requirements: 1GB System RAM (XP) / 2GB System RAM (Vista). 2.4 Ghz Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor. Direct X 9.0c compliant videocard with 256MB RAM (NVIDIA 6800 or better / ATI X850 or better).

For Fallout: New Vegas:

Minimum System Requirements: Processor: Dual Core 2.0GHz. Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 6 series, ATI 1300XT series. Memory: 2GB RAM. Hard drive: 10GB free space. OS: Windows 7/Vista/XP

The site says they're about the same, and I don't really understand all that technical stuff you posted. All I want to know is how smoothly one game runs compared to the other.

Well, if the site says they're about the same, they'll probably run about the same.
Just pick the game you expect to enjoy the most.

New Vegas is slightly more optimized and crashes less(but it still randomly crashes, Fallout 3 and NV are notorious for this on PC), also Fallout 3 has GFWL garbage, New Vegas doesn't install any extra DRM and has Steam achievements.

Actually, never mind. Found a great deal online and got them both for $15. Thanks for the responses anyway!
