Yes you can level up your Piller of the commiunity to Community ambster for 100 Xp more...
Also you can sighup for the SteamBox Brta for 150 more..
Then you can wait for a year.... and each year more will come with more XP
Also if you buy games...
And from level 6 You have the abilty to win Cards Booster packs that you may be very very lucky to get 1 and if you get many to get a set and make a game budge\

And sometime steam have Events were you can free somemore badges for XP (like the beta)

Just like stated above, the "pillar of the community" and "community ambassador" are the easiest ones to get for free, then you also have the Steam Beta Candidate badge but you should keep in mind that when you're trying to get the badge you can eventually get involved into some beta testing, which is serious stuff.

Other badges can only be unlocked when you play games that have Steam Trading Cards.

If you have cards for other games and you only want to craft/level defiance cards you can trade here, http://www.steamcardexchange.net/index.php?inventory. Also, just make sure you log into Steam everyday, I have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ one booster pack already just from logging in.

Just a minor correction. As I understand it, you only need to log in once a week to be eligible for Booster drops.

I checked the article via Steam on how to get a booster pack and it says log-in everyday in a week.
