Why does Garry's Mod slow my computer down?

Hi guys. Im here to ask a question as to why Garry's Mod Slows my computer Down. I have a really good computer that runs games on 60 fps, Such as league of legends, Chivalry, Mount and Blade, Etc. But this one game Just screws my computer up, leaving me having to uninstall it and restore my computer to a earlier time. On Garry's Mod I play TTT (Trouble In Terrorist Town) And the server on it require Addons. Now there addons Are downloaded from steam workshop. I'm Pretty sure these addons are the problem Because Once I joined a server and it needed just about 700 downloads to play it. Of course stupidly enough I waited for them to finish. The game worked fine the first day. But the second day it got slower. And slower and slower to the point that I could not play at ALL. This did not only affect my garry's mod. As this also affected my games too. Making my games Give me 5 fps. I Have looked for anyone else having this problem. But no results. My cousin plays this game and downloads all the stuff i download and his computer is fine. But he has like 400-500 GB's on his space. But yet he stills plays the game just fine. If anyone has a solution to this Please feel free to answer. It would help alot to me. Thanks.

well first of all were is you Gmod instell? is it maybe on the C storge? becose it needs to keep some space there and all and maybe all the download just fill it up?

It actually is on the C storage. And no i have about 85 GB's left in the space which is plenty. But just for some reason it slows my FPS down really badly. There is so many severs you can play on ttt. Thousands. And they all have addons on them which is stupid. If you ever see youtubers play this such as pewdiepie,Gassy mexican, Seananners, Etc. They all play on a private custom server with no addons. This seems funny to me because i feel like it slows their computer down too.

well i have my own server and haveing addons is great XD
But i dont get any slow down form it... i do get my Gmod takeing more time to start up the more addons i got.. but i never had any thing too bad... and it did not effect my outher games or even when i play in Gmod after the Start up
All i can think off is the Download is gonig somewere that just slow you pc.. maybe its not oderd on the disk or something... maybe if you can try to move it from the C to some were else and see if that helps?

No but you see my Windows Runs on my C Storage. So if I place it on another driver it wont have the stuff i downloaded.

well you can just manuly move the stuff and all... you can cut and paste the Gmod foulder from were it is... and just reset the locasin of game download in steam it self... if its really big i suggest maybe to wait to someone that may have had these problem and may know how to fix it

Yes you can no problem do it.. why will it not work on the D drive?
I have all my games on D drive and only my system pogreams go on C... that is how i always did it

You know how to change the locasin from steam ya?

Yea I do I had to create a file on the D drive called steam library. Its downloading right now. And i will make sure to add you.

well stop the download for a sec and just copy past the game from C... it will cut the downloading time + give you all the addons
So move the files then restart the download and it will find you have it all finsh in a few seconds

Well I dont have garry's mod downloaded anyway because I uninstalled it. Do you want me to just keep downloading it on D drive? or do what you said?

not sure now really... well if you dont have nothing left there so guess there is nothing to move then
