Steam Cloud can not sync Payday 2

I just got Payday 2 and I downloaded it on my Laptop first and then on my desktop I first played on my laptop and everything went well. The next day I try playing it on my desk top it failed and a message appeared saying "steam is unable to sync your files for Payday 2 with the steam Cloud." Thinking I could start over I tried playing it un-synced I hit play now it would not load I have try deleting it from my laptop and shuting eavery thing down on my laptop. Help?

P.S. Steam Support sucks!

Same problem here. At first I thought it was my university's stupid web filters not letting the server connect but it won't sync on other connections either. My other games will sync fine so maybe its a problem on Overkill's end? But my friend's save syncs across his 3 gaming pc's so its not affecting everyone I guess. Has anyone tried re-installing yet?

Steam just updated on my laptop and the files are synced now. I discovered that originally, my laptop version was missing the local folder where it stored the saves. I was getting ready to manually create the folder when i saw steam updating in the background. Uncertain if the Steam update was the fix or not, but my cloud nw syncs correctly. So everyone try updating steam first.

For anyone that doesn't know how to force a steam update, open your Steam client and hit "Steam" in the upper left corner. Choose the "Check for Steam Client Updates..." option, and it should update if there is one available. Hopefully this was the fix, instead of me just getting lucky.

You can't play on your laptop because you are missing a file that isn't generated by the game anymore. Look up "how to fix payday 2 not starting 11/4". I can't sync either though :(

I have the same problem, I can't sync the game to seam cloud but it can start.
It was partially synced when I noticed it stopped for no reason.
Any solutions?

the reason is that the save game data for pd2 isnt in the steam/steamapps folders.
its it in your C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\UNIQUE_ID\24240
