Although... a Maestro card is Mastercards older Debit card. They used to be 'Switch' cards, but were rebranded a few years back. Although it should be mentioned that VERY FEW banks now issue Maestro cards as debit cards and stick to either a specific 'Mastercard Debit', or Visa Debit card. It's only issued in Ireland or in the UK with bank of Ireland accounts.
(HSBC took my Maestro card and changed it to Visa Debit)
But the Maestro cards are sometimes treated like Visa Electron cards in so much that they aren't accepted very 'friendly' outside of the UK/Europe.
Then give it a try and see. Worst case it shouldn't accept the card as a payment.
