Can't install Steam on Debian
Hey guys some can help me? when i send "sudo dpkg -i steam-latest.deb" the response is: "dpkg: errore nell'elaborare steam-latest.deb (--install):
impossibile accedere all'archivio: File o directory non esistente
Si sono verificati degli errori nell'elaborazione:
steam-latest.deb"
(error processing steam-latest.deb (- install):
can not access archive: File or directory does not exist

What i need to do?

Chances are that Debian doesn't have a Steam package. It's like SOOOO not their thing -- they can't get a broken 5-year-old version to put in their distribution, and it's not "free".

You'll probaby have to try downloading the Ubuntu package, and work your way from there to work around problems. Linux and Linux aren't really compatible.

Did you go to the Debian site? Look at the forums and see if there is a solution there, or post the issue there. They should be able to give you an answer.

I think you will have better chance on Ubuntu. Then again I hate Linux it confuses that crap outta me.

thanks to all... i'm forced to resign myself... (never change Debian for Ubuntu ;D)
