I know that you CANT sell games or game keys in steam
(trust me i have already read the rules) but can i trade my keys for games on steam?

I recently purchased some on humble bundle and I have keys to games that I already have on steam and i dont want to throw them away or just give them away.

Is there a way I can trade with someone on steam with my key and not get banned or something? (cause technicly im not sellling it I want to trade) but because humble bundle does not let you have a a copy in your inventory this is why I ask.

(hopefully this comment does not get locked or removed and i dont get a ban or whatever)

cheers:solitude:

You aren't allowed to sell, trade or gift codes from the Humble Bundle.

As for trading keys, it is hard to so do as they leave both parties open for scams, so many are reluctant to trade them.

If I already have a game(s) in the bundle do I have the ability to gift the extra copy in the bundle?
Unfortunately, if you already have a game in the bundle you will not be able to gift the extra games to a friend.

Please consider your bundle a "unit", and not to share copies of the games or Steam keys from it.

If you'd like to give a copy of the games away, we have a system in place that allows you to buy a gift key from www.humblebundle.com so your friends can have access to direct downloads as well as any Steam or other keys we have included.

Yep.

Remember, you did it for charity, not the games.

I quoted it in the other post at the top.
One don't do it for charity. One can do it for a lot of reasons. Normally part of the money goes to charity but you can decide that none do so, just as you can let all go to charity.

Me personally I want the people who contribute a reason to participate to earn something / possibly all. Now if charity benefits then that's good to of course.

I don't see how one have to be all that upset if some remain unused though because it's cheap and yeah you'll likely not like everything or possibly already own some or whatever but as said it's cheap. If there's only one game you don't own for instance I guess you could pay what you want for that one or if you have to pay more than what you want to pay leave the rest for charity.

The resell stuff and personal part of it is likely to not mess up with all future sales the normal way. If that's the case just accept it. And then you either buy or you don't.
