Half Life vs. Half Life: Source

I just purchased the Valve Complete Pack and it came with two copies of Half Life, one labeled "Source." The same goes for Counter-Strike. What's the difference? Should I install the Source copies and not the regular ones? Thanks.

Also... Why are there so many Half Life 2 and Counter-Strike games/episodes? Are they all worth downloading?

Edit: Day of Defeat also has 2 copies.

I know that Counter Strike source is another Counter strike game. No clue which one but just another game of the series. Half life episodes are shorter additions to half life 2, more story etc.
I have no clue whats half life source, probably one like the episodes but i dont know.

How do you even begin to search for a topic that is 7 years old. What where you searching for to find this topic and then to try to answer that.

When games have Source after their name it's because it was ported to the Source engine. Some Source games got a graphical update, the others did not.

Half life is the original this one is the best one in my opinion however half life source is the remaster of the original half life however since they put the remaster on the source engine hence the name the source version has glitches and bugs that can be manually fix but if you don’t want to manually fix bug and glitches etc then just ignore the source version. Only bugs I found were NPC floating above chair when sitting down and one of the games skyboxes are broken but aging it can manually be fixed these bugs are only for source version.
