Selling games...
If I understand it correct, you can buy a game as a gift which goes into your inventory. Once it's in your inventory, you can sell the game.

If you decide you want to play a game in your inventory, can you move it to your library(Which of cource can never be moved back into your inventory.)?

How can you tell how much a game is being sold for? I there a group you can join or someplace in the Steam app that shows you everything for sell?

Anyone, thanks for everyones help!

Well, you can sell stuff on the market!

I'm not sure about buying it as a gift and adding it to your library.
But I do know when a friend gives you a gift, you can redeem it right there.

You can not sell a game from your inventory. You can trade it or gift it. It is a violation of the SSA to sell it.

Yes, you can add a game from your inventory to your library, but not the reverse. After a game is added to your library, it is there for life.

As for a games "worth", that is based on what someone is willing to trade for it.

Some sites use "keys" as a value, something may be forth 1 key or 1.5 keys, ect, though that is an artificial price and is subject to what someone else may feel it is worth. Some may be willing to give more for a game, some less. It is all between you and the person who want's the game.

I thought when a game is in your inventory, it has the "sell" button? I thought you could sell a game and the money goes into your steam wallet?

How can I tell what others have traded for a game in the past and what others are currently asking to trade a game today?

Are you talking about 3rd party websites that sell Steam keys?

I was thinking about buying a game I *might* play in the future. So I would buy it and put it in my inventory. If I get in the mood to play it I would put it in my library, however if at some point I don't think I will play it I can sell it.

Just a thought.

Games don't have a "sell" button. TF2, DOTA2, Trading Cards and a few others you can sell for wallet funds. Not game. The only exception was the DOTA2 beta invite and that wasn't a game that was being sold as the game was f2p.

3rd part sites have estimates.

No, some 3rd part tiles (since games can not be sold for money) use TF2 in-game keys (they sell for $2.50 in the TF2 store) as a base value and some people use them as an unoffical currancy.

A lot of people do that, though they can not sell it. They trade it with other users for another game or gift it to a friend instead of buying them a birthday gift or such.

You cannot sell games in the marketplace or within steam itself. It's againts the ToS to sell games. You can trade them for other games or items. Most popular "currency" is team fortress 2 man co keys. They cost 2€ in the official store but you can currently buy them from the marketplace for around 1,40€.

Basicly you can buy X amount of keys with your steam wallet in the marketplace. Find someone that is selling the game for the apropriate number of keys and trade it away. Nothing wrong with that.

You can find trade propositions in the old steam forums. Steamtrades site is also a very good way to find what you are looking for.

Do note that all trades are final and you cannot retrack a "bad trade". There are also scammers. As long as you trade items (such as steam gifts and tf2 keys) within the steam trade window it's a low risk thing.

Trading forum.

You need to creat a diffrent account and link your Steam account. They are the old Offical forums, so it is safe to do so.
