Issue with Paypal?

I have used Paypal all the time for purchases on Steam with no problems. Today I keep getting authorization issues, but if I use the credit card that is tied to my Paypal account directly it works fine. Just curious if it's just me or something larger

Same/similar issue (I'm in UK), the checkout option for PayPal is asking for billing information such as card holder details & address,etc.. The whole reason for using PayPal is so I dont have to post Credit/Debit card details online. Is this the same issue as everyone else is posting about on this thread or is this thread specific to transaction failures and missing 'Province' fields ?

No all that is about guessing why it's not working, but for those in Canada, that could be it, because usually we had a province field that is usually used to validate transaction...

Yeah, what we are discussing is the fact that suddenly PayPal doesn't work for us anymore. I used it the night before I started this thread and the next day (and ever since) it just throws messages that essentially mean PayPal couldn't authenticate us (but PayPal still works at other sites for me). Since one of the things that PayPal checks for authentication is that the billing address matches what's in their records and the fact that we no longer have a Province field we are guessing that's what the issue is.

I would prefer not to give all my personal information, but if I use my credit card (which I did since this started with no problems) I have to give the same information along with my CC # so I would prefer to use PayPal rather than my CC

Oddly enough, even though my PayPal account was working on other sites I called PayPal and they said they reset some flags and trusted my IP and now it's working. Oddness that only Steam had issues. Guess they are more stringent?

Having a problem as well, every time I try to use PayPal to purchase something I get a new window that's just a border and has nothing in it.

Unfortunately, I just tried it and it's still not working. Still asking me to enter in a debit/credit card so the instant transation still not authenticating properly =/

Got these problems to.... Just bought Borderlands 2 + Season Pass with paypal 1 hour ago.
No I want to buy some more and nothing happends... Only those damn errors about transaction can not be completed...

@People who got it working - do you have a credit/debit card linked to your PayPal account? I don't and I'm wondering if it's even possible to buy stuff on Steam without it. I mean, I've bought a ton of things on other sites with my not linked PayPal account and never had any problems, so is this a Steam issue (either a "we will let you use PayPal, but only if you also give your cc/dc info" policy, or some kind of error), or is it a problem with PayPal?
