Pre Ordered deadpool at £39.99 , Few hours later £10 cheaper
Hey,

I pre ordered Deadpool at £39.99! It's been that price since it's been up for weeks, Then all of a sudden 3 hours after I pre order it's £10 cheaper, I can understand games going on sale and getting cheaper but a pre order? How many people have been ripped off with this deadpool pre order? I've wrote to support.

Support can refund you for games that are still in pre-order

Yeah, I've wrote to them but now I can lose the pre order bonus, Not a nice way to treat people who pre order and support them, They should price match without people having to beg at them for a refund.

Support can not adjust the prices. They are limited in what they can and can not do. The system is mostly automated.

Maybe the Developers didn't get enough sales on the first hours and lowered it more?

Honestly though, it was good enough price for you when you bought it at that point and it shouldn't really matter if they lower it some more. Next time be patient and see what happens.

Be more Patient? What's a pre order for if the price isn't guarenteed to stay the same? it's been £39.99 for weeks now. It just randomly changed, Why have pre orders if you mistreat people that do it? They are the people who's paying and supporting steam/the game more than anyone else. If you don't see the problem with that you're brain washed.

So when should you pre order? Should I grab myself a crystal ball? with your logic.

And people on the Early Access thread discussing about Preorders not changing price or getting discounts while KSP did... There we go, preorders discounted.

Last time i checked peorders never guaranteed a price. And usually preorders are bought to have a preload option, or get the preorder bonuses
(And people can issue a refund and buy it for cheaper anyway, so the developer is going to get some backslash from it)

As Tito Shivan said, there is no price guarantee on a pre order. If it had been £40 for weeks it's more prone to change. It'd be different if the Developer said the price wouldn't change.

There is no mistreat of customers who pre orders. They are willing to pay for that price and that's it. I don't whine about buying stuff from the super market store because they suddenly have something on sale the next week.

As for they being the ones that support the company the most. Um no. The most sales happen in the first day to the first week. Because I can't remember any sales record being broken before release.

You can pre order the game the game a few days before release to be sure that it won't be lowered in price. Nothing will change in content if you pre order it on the first day it's being available to the last hour.

Steam fanboys :) I'm going to take a wild guess and say yous never pre order so yous don't care? Using a supermarket logic in this case doesn't work, You don't pre order your food and the price the supermarket pays to suppliers changes. The prices of games can be set in stone.

Also I wasn't talking about who makes them the most money, I was meaning the people who pre order are the ones who put their full commitment and faith into the game and should be treated with respect.

It seems you are wanting to take irraitonal digs at my orginal post and make up random logic to make yourself sound better. A pre order shouldn't jump up and down without a price match in place, Simple as that. All other retailers don't also take the money right away and give you the cheapest price.

It's people with attitudes like this that let companys like microsoft think they can mess customers around.

Seems my steam fanboy logic is backed up looking at your profile, I get it now.

Changing a preorder price is fine as long as those who have already order it are compensated, in my opinion. Amazon does it right, if the price drops on a preorder then anyone who already preordered will pay the new lower price. Also if the price goes up, you still pay for the low price you originally went for.
I would certainly cancel a preorder and then order it again, it's just a shame Steam doesn't do this automatically.

wow i feel sad for you

So far, on top of my head, I've preordered recently on Steam:
DE:HR
Portal 2
CS:GO
I preordered them because I wanted to play them from Day 1. (I had been playing CS:GO beta anyway) and because i thought the developer deserved full price for them.
TWO of those preorders suffered discounts (DE:HR and Portal 2) i didn't care about it because i paid what i felt was fair at the moment i paid it.

So please keep out your ad-hominems to support your point. The FACT is that nowhere is stated that a preorder has to retain price.

If you people stopped basing your decisions on how things SHOULD work and base it in how things REALLY work, there wouldn't be these issues to begin with.
Insomnia Jun 21, 2013 @ 2:44am
I'm basing it on how things REALLY work. 99% of other retailers have a system in place to protect pre orders from what happend here, Steam does not. So saying my post isn't based on how things "REALLY" work is wrong. Next?

I'm saying it's wrong and needs to be changed, simple as that. Just because steam treats a customer like rubbish doens't make it right.
