Local Co op

i just purchased a new controller so i can play a few game with my girl, but im un able to find where i can play locally. ive tried my call of duty, boarderlands two etc. the joystick works so im wondering if these game even have a local co op feature. if it does can some one run the steps by me, and if the dont have this feature can some one just let me know so i dont pull my hair out searching and also so i can give some one a piece of my mind as to why i cant enjoy a good game with my chick. thanks a million.

If a game has local co-op then the store page for the game will usually list it as having Local Co-op (as opposed to just co-op) at the bottom right of the page.

I don't believe that call of duty or borderlands two are in that list nor do either of them mention local co-op on their store pages.

L4D2 has Co-op, not local co-op.

You can play coperatively with others on-line, but not on the same computer.

LIES! You have to enter the splitscreen commands ss_enable 1 and ss_map <mapname> to start it!

However, Left 4 Dead 2 is COMPLETELY disobedient to cheat commands. Left 4 Dead 1 is not.

I play Left 4 Dead 1 split screen occasionally with a controller for player 2. Just type ss_enable 1 into the console on the menu then ss_map <mapname> to start a game! type ss_mapname l4d_ and the game should drop-down a list of available map names automatically!

You have to enable the gamepad in the menu, unplug then replug during loading if it's not set to player 2, and bind the buttons on the controller and/or keyboard. Xbox 360 controllers are recognized by Left 4 Dead naturally and automatically set their controls correctly. That's how mine went.
