If you prefer a fantasy setting, want to be able to fully customise your character and like being rewarded for exploration, but are not that bothered about story go for Skyrim - also Skyrim has a massive amount of mods to choose from in the Steam workshop.
If you like the idea of a darker steampunk style setting, prefer more intrigue and a story with more depth go for Dishonored.
Both of them are excellent games, but depending on your preferences you will probably get more hours of gameplay from Skyrim
6-8 hours in Dishonored. Never felt like I wanted to try a diffrent style. A few side quests, nothing I felt I had or wanted to do, but I did them.
Personaly, I loved Skyrim.
It is up to you though. Kiya said, it is more about personal prefrence.
