On Steam what name do players see in multiplayer? My Login name or something else?
I know Steam has a login name and that can't be changed, people in other forums we're saying the login name can't be seen. So if I was on multiplayer on Steam, who would know who I am? Theirs no names over peoples heads? Or are their two types of names you can have on Steam? PS: I'm new to Steam moving from the PS3.

Aliases show up on scoreboards rather than floating over people, usually. Putting your cursor/crosshair over a team mate may also show their alias.

No, you can change your Profile Name at any time by going to Edit Profile.
