Should i need to download after installing it from the disc ?

I have installed the deus ex HR game from disc, but after complete installation process steam shows i have only 90% of the data and the rest 10 % is set for download.
Do i have full game on disc and if not then whats the point of buying a dvd vs downloading the game on net ??
and i also turned off game updates so that it doesnt add up to the problem...
what should i do ??

There's likely a few updates since the master was released. I don't think there's a way to bypass it as you're installing it after those updates were released.

Is that really the updates or its downloading the files of games as i noticed, in steam it shows i have 6.3GB / 7GB but the folder where i installed only this game is using space around 9.1 GB excluding the steam files which is installed on another drive.

Could be downloading the DLC portions. As far as I am aware, Steam starts by puts downloaded data into a "staging" folder, then when complete or paused copies it to the install directory for the game.

I'm not sure what files it would be using, but there have been updates to the game's core since release/master.

Thanks for comments.. but i m really got stuck. I cant download the rest of the data which seems to be 700 MB due to not having strong internet connection and its not starting the game as whenever i starts the game it shows the update bar. It surely not dowloading the updates as i also turned off auto updates in setting.
i bought this game few weeks later ansd still not able to start the game due to this.
I cant see any difference in buying a dvd as it also forces to download the game data from internet which is a trouble for a slow net users and not giving the full game files on disc.

I'd suggest uninstalling DXHR and try the following support article.

If that helps, then great.. otherwise you may not have a choice for those updates. As far as "full files on the disc" they're there, just old.

Yes,i have seen that article before wheni was searching for these problem and also tried this but no help. i reinstalled this game many times also by deleting all folders n all and lastly with the above method but nothing helps.

I more thing i noticed before installing is that when i starts the installation it shows it need 8516 MB space in drive but when it starts the process it shows installation progress like this
4419 MB / 8443 MB that means its not 8516 as it wants before installing.
is there anything in this or just simple error ?

This is a bit confusing... have you considered sending a support ticket in this case? They may be able to ask for logs that might give better insight as to why you can't get it installed (and subsequently only the updates for the game which should NOT be 700MB).

Yes,i submitted the question related to this problem yesterday but didnt get anything till now.

Tickets can take a fair amount of time to get responses. (I've had some take literally two months for a response.)

Then i can fairly imagine when i will going to play this game as it tooks months to give a response.
