Steam terrible installer & when running kills pc

PLEASE can anyone help? Sick of wasting my time on this ♥♥♥♥ now!
Twice done a complete fresh install of OS and steam will not work correctly, getting stupid errors on install after hanging at 99%, tried reinstalling OS (windows 7) fresh again and fully updating but problem persists, after several tries i can start it and log in but after this my whole pc is affected and laggy. Once steam is stopped pc goes back to running fine, gaming system perfectly capable and was working fine till fresh install. Windows fully updated, tried EVERY single method i have found on the internet to solve this but nothing works. Deleted registry between trying installs and uninstalling, tried installing on other drives, ran as admin etc, steamUI_2125 is the error i get mainly if anyone else has had this and sorted it plz let me know. Downloads will not work correctly either, i try to install a game and it just stops and starts constantly mostly sitting at 0, and no its not steam busy as logged in on another pc in network and downloaded same files fine ! NO ISSUES WITH ANY OTHER PROGRAM JUST ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ STEAM ! steam rapidly pissing me off now, had nothing but disconnects last few months now this !

just as an update, it seams that steam does not like the 2 tb drive thats installed :/ installed a game onto ssd (just a small game as limited space) working 100% ok with no stutter etc so tried copying over large files and no such problems arise with 2 tb hdd, just steam has issues with it. Have ran disk check and all ok, wierd thing is have identical drive in other pc and works fine with steam. the mind boggles :(

have you done a disk check on the hard drive? It could have some bad sectors - its a pain to do, but probably better to check it then have it suddenly fail, losing all of the content you have on there.

Sounds like the HDD is bad. Scan Disk doesn't check everything. Try this:

hi guys thanks for suggestions, i did get a little angry and spat my dummy in frustration and punched the front of pc case smashing it all and pushed metal mesh into fan then the fan blade flew off and hit the graphics card and poof a lovely burned out smell filled the room :/ Nooooo what have i done d'oh ! :(
So i stripped everything out and set up out of the case reinstalling fresh without hdd connected and using spare gc card, whilst that was installing i connected the 2 tb hdd to another pc, formatted to clean off part files then made a fresh steam library on it and tested downloading onto it, Not a problem and worked 100% after testing several games. Connected to original system again and blow me the darn thing worked fine, even installed steam onto it then my boy tested DayZ and worked a treat, so fitted in spare case. Ok so you would think thats it right, no such luck and now onto the next fault lol after setting up parental control and a user account and setting admin for other accounts dayz would only run in windowed mode otherwise heard sound but just saw desktop at wrong resolution and unable to interact with it. also when running in windowed mode there is a green bar with 2 white lines on the left side of screen, Tried uninstalling steam, arma II etc, removing registry left and removing user accounts, running all as admin, and deleting documents which store settings, program files too, and graphics drivers, checked directx and .net framworks incase, reinstalled got the same trouble and with cod and garrys mod but other games fine, tried reseating card incase that but no difference, seams like i'm jinxed or cursed, still a few things left to try but omg plug and play for me is never that simple, giving some space to it as not got any more spares atm so will try in a few days when chillaxed lmao !
