Copy and Paste not working on Steam

When ever I try to copy or paste something with/from steam, It doesn't do it. It used to, but not anymore. Why?

When trying to copy text, I find the first press of Ctrl+C doesn't actually copy. I've got into the habit of pressing Ctrl+C three or four times in quick succession before clicking away to make sure what I wanted to copy has actually copied to the clipboard.

well, It works on the web browser, but it MAY not work on ACTUAL steam, but thanks for the tip.

i have this same problem! it only started happening relatively recently (within the last month or two)

I just right click and pick copy/paste. Did you try that?

Old thread, but I'm having this problem too on Steam itself, but only when it comes to posts and comments on community pages, and only with the mouse. Anyhoo...

Still having this issue. Sometimes it copies and other times it doesn't. Its INCREDIBLY annoying and can lead to awkward situations when you paste something not meant for someone else's eyes when you are under the impression you are about to paste something entirely different. Please fix it, its been two ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years.

yea have the same problem i cant copy and paste anything in a steam game or in the steam overlay its really annoying if im trying to send a discord link or something

I have this issue with sharing screenshots from my Steam account through the client. For some reason, I haven't figured out yet, copying the screenshot URL lags forever when using the client but works perfectly through a browser.

I've been considering mentioning this to official support because it apparently hasn't been reported and has been going on for me since they introduced the new user interface. I thought it was only me so I've just been using a browser when I want to share. As far as I know it's only screenshots it's happening with for me. I can copy text from the forums and everywhere else just fine.

What areas is it not working in for you?
