game crashing

I am really fed-up with this game. I purchased it for my pc, which has more than DOUBLE THE REQUIRED SPECS. Game would not even get past the sreen titles without FREEZING. My mate (who is more technical than me) deleted the disc version of the game, and dowloaded it from steam said the steam version would automatically detect my pc. settings and adjust the game accordingly. After waiting overnight (my download speed not great) i eagerly started up the steam version, and guess what EXACTLY THE SAME. i can't even get past the opening titles to play the game. I think there should be some way of giving customers a refund, when they pay good money,and can't use the game. If anyone has any further suggestions, i will be more than happy to try them???? Every single time I see someone say this, it turns out they have something like a GT520, thinking it's twice as good as a GTX260 when in fact the 520 is utter crap for running the latest games. How about telling us your GPU and CPU?

Second, are you perhaps cancelling the first time install, thinking "you already have DirectX and the Visual C++ redistributables"?

Third, are you on vista, 7 or 8? It won't work on XP.

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD, apparently...

Ahh, the wonders of preassembled systems and how they tuck away the graphics part. Dell Inc. was a pretty bad sign to begin with. Google is full of people looking to upgrade the graphic card in that system.

GeForce GT 220 <-- That's your videocard then. I'm not familiar with the Nvidia line myself but I don't think it's a particularly good one.

True. That was just based on some random googling where someone asked how well it would run Skyrim and the response was roughly 'like crap'. So yeah, not exactly professional advice there ^^

Is there any type of card you could reccomend, as my IT mate says they vary from £25 TO £500 depending on what you want. Obviously i am not going to pay vast ammounts to play 1 game.

I can't really help you with that. Better to wait for someone who knows, or perhaps ask in the hardware forums, or google for "dell Studio XPS 8100 graphics card", you'll see a lot of threads about upgrading the graphics card.

PROBLEM SOLVED !!!!! Just went on NVIDIA website and downloaded update for graphics card.Appears to have done the trick :):)
