Download speed
I've just done a speed test, for a totally different reason, and it says my download speed is 10.59Mbps, yet when im downloading a game on steam, the most ive ever seen it say is about 1.7Mbps, Just wondering why its doing this? Wether its some sort of setting ive not done properly or someithng, cuz some games take an age to download, yet if it was full speed itd be 5x faster.

Just noticed that in my steam settings, where it says what is my approximate internet speed, its on dsl/cable >2Mbps, that the problem?
ISP speeds are usuly listed as Mb, not MB. Yes, the big B and little b make a diffrence.

1 Mb = 0.125 MB

A 25 Mbps connection is equivlent to a 3.125 MB connection.

Steam's speeds are listed in MB.

A 10.59 Mbps connection comes to 1.32 MBps.

Depending on the speed test you used, it may have shown the results in Mb and not MB.
Exactly what Spawn said. It confuses a lot of people on Steam.
Ah so its actually right, weird. thanks anyway.
2Mb is a little slow i guess
Maybe some games will work fine...... Anyway take care and shut down ANY other useless program
Good luck
