Thanks for the response, I have tried that avenue though. Not only that but I also deleted the info manually inside the Launcher file, and the weird file in user/documents/games/... It keeps coming back!
Hmm, confusing. Something that's been stored on the cloud or tied to the Steam account somehow, like Workshop subscription perhaps? Maybe even a download/mod manager for something that's still got modded profiles set? As Spawn of Totoro said, knowing which game would help a fair bit with that.
Can't think of anything off the top of my head that has mods installed in the Documents folder or elsewhere so it's likely that loose files aren't the cause from the sound of it..
I'd say that Ubi support is the way to go there, maybe they can help you or at least purge the bad data from the cloud (if that is indeed the problem) for you so you can start fresh or something.
Other than that I'm not sure what could help, I never really modded Far Cry 3 much, just a couple tweaks here and there in config etc, so haven't had experience with the mods you used, sorry :/
