Can somone explain to me simply of what is going on with ps3 and steam if I buy the ps3 disc from my local gamestop do I get a free version or an hour long trial oooooorrr do I have to buy from the psn store to be eligible please remember comment simply I'm only in 8th grade

the only cross-platform game between ps3 and steam is Portal 2 (that i know of)
if you get Portal 2 for ps3 retail, it will come with a steam redeemable code that you can activate once you link your psn account to your steam account.

Thats the game I am talking about all I know is that when I search the internet I get mixed opinions on that you get the full version on pc for free or its only an hour long trial and I'm sooooo confuzed

If you buy the physical copy, it should include a cd-key for the full PC version of Portal 2 on Steam.

I can not say if that holds for the PSN copy.

You guys are pretty helpful and could you help me with my friending issue every time I try to friend my cousin Chris From The Block I get this red message at the top of the screen that says "Could not invite this friend. Your friends limit is exceeded" is there a problem with my account or his.

That will be solved when you add Portal 2 to your account.

It is a restriction for not having a full game on your account. Right now you have a limited account. After you add a game, it will be a premium account.

Steam doesn't want people ot make throw away accounts. By adding a games, you now have a vestid intrest in keeping your account safe and secure.

But I already have two well one is portal first slice the demo but the other I think is a full game its Star Conflict free play or does that not count

Demos and F2P do not count. It has to be something you spent money on. A game or TF2 item.

and two more things is it only in ceratin places that I buy the game at or is it anywhere and is the free download for mac or pc because not to offend anyone or anything but pc's in my opinion suuuuuuuuuuuuuck thats why I game on an iMac desktop so will it still work

Steam games that work on Macs are listed as such on their store page.
If it's not listed as a Mac game then it will not work on a Mac.

Games bought on Steam can be downloaded via the Steam Client as many times as you like without any extra charge.

Portal 2 is a 'steamplay' game, where if you buy it you get BOTH a pc and a mac copy that you can play on either OS.

Man if you think gaming on a PC sucks your world is twisted. Mac is limited cause it was never meant for gaming, so you tell me what will work better a PC that was built for gaming or a Mac that is now just coming around to gaming?

Your copy of portal 2 on Steam is downloadable and attached to your account. Where you can uninstall/reinstall it whenever you want without a fear of losing the disk. If you buy the Portal 2 PS3 game used then odds are that code is already redeemed. New copy only to be safe.
